Refunds and Exchanges

Refunds for Annual Commuter Zone Permits

Pro-rated refunds are provided for Annual Commuter Zone Permits. The parking permit must be received by Transportation Services before 4:30 p.m. on the last business day of the qualifying month in order for a refund to be processed. The last day that a 2017-18 annual permit may be returned for a refund is Friday, April 27, 2018.

There is a $5 processing fee for all permits returned for a refund or exchange.

The responsibility for returning a permit and requesting a refund lies with the permit holder.  A refund will not be issued if there is an outstanding balance on the parking account.  The refund will be applied to the outstanding parking balance before the remaining balance is issued.  If the parking permit is not returned to Transportation Services, no refund will be issued.

Waitlists

Waitlists are available for sold out commuter and resident zones.

Adding to a Waitlist

You can add yourself to a waitlist for a sold out zone by visiting the Permit Sales website, and selecting your desired zone. If the zone is sold out, then you will be able to select the corresponding waitlist. Alternatively, you may contact Transportation Services at parking@oregonstate.edu, by calling 541-737-2583, or by visiting our office located on the main floor of Adams Hall.

Release of Permits

Permits are released as they become available in each zone, and are issued in the order that the waitlist requests are received.  Permits can become available as current permit holders return their permits, or if utilization data (taken every other week) shows that the zone can support the release of additional permits.

We will notify you via e-mail, with an offer letter attached, if a permit in your zone of choice becomes available and you are next on the waitlist. If you are notified, you will have three business days to respond by visiting Transportation Services in Adams Hall to purchase the permit. After three business days, and no response to the letter, you will be removed from the waitlist.

Electric Vehicle Parking

Permit Requirements for EV Parking

Vehicles parked in electric vehicle (EV) parking spaces require a permit to be displayed for the zone in which the charging station is located. However, Transportation Services offers some flexibility for EV space users.

Commuters with electric vehicles may use their commuter parking permit laterally across zones to access EV spaces, and may also choose to use the park-down feature of the zonal system to access EV spaces in a lower tiered zone. For example, a commuter with an A2 permit and an electric vehicle may use the EV spaces in an A1 Zone, or any of the charging stations in the B or C Zones. The table below outlines which zonal permits may access the designated charging station locations on campus. For more information about EV parking at OSU visit the EV Charging page on the Sustainability at OSU website.

On the following table, an “X” indicates the type of commuter permit that is valid for each EV Charging Station. The vehicle must be a plug-in electric (or plug-in hybrid) vehicle, and must be plugged into a charging station, to use an EV Charging space.
