OSU's Fall Bike Challenge runs from October 1-31. Teams of 4 to 10 riders compete to see who can ride the most during the month of October.

Whether you are a seasoned rider or you're just starting out, you can form a team of friends, co-workers or classmates to enjoy a friendly campus-wide competition.
Forming a team:
- To participate, all team members need to register for ZAP (that’s how we keep track of scores).
- Team coordinators are in charge of registering a team and communicating roster changes to [email protected]
- All team members can recruit new team members, encourage, inspire and boost the team spirit
- New teams, please fill out a team registration.
- Team minimum: 4 members
- Team maximum: 10 members
- Email [email protected] if you want to make adjustments to an existing team roster.
- Deadline for new teams or roster changes: October 15, 2025
How the bike challenge works:
- Teams will be ranked by the total number of ZAPs collected during the month of October. The team with the most ZAPs wins!
- Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place teams.
- Each team member can earn 1 ZAP per day. The more days you ride and the more team members you recruit, the higher your team score will be.
- In the event of a tie, the team with the higher "inspirational" score wins (1 point for every “sometimes” rider, and 2 points for every “never” rider on that team)
- If you add a team member who has already collected ZAPs in October, all of their October ZAPs will count toward your team score.
- If you already have a team set up in ZAP, you are all set to participate in the Fall Bike Challenge.
