Cycle Away From Carbon learn-to-bike classes will equip students new to biking with skills and resources to become successful bike commuters.
Learn To Bike Class Details
When: Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31, 2026
Time: 11a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: TBA location on the OSU Corvallis campus
Who: Qualified instructors and helpful volunteers are prepared to empower students to learn biking skills in a small and supportive group space. The class is free for OSU students. Helmets and food will be provided and bikes will be available to use during the class.
How to join: Participants need to:
- Be OSU students
- Apply via the webform
- Sign waivers for OSU and instructors (if minors, parents will need to sign their paperwork)
- Commit to both days of the class
No bike or previous bike riding experience is required, though either one is helpful. There is no charge to participate.
Background
Cycle Away From Carbon is a student led, grant funded program housed in Transportation Services and offered in the Spring of 2026.
Funding for this project was provided by OSU Facilities Planning and Management and the program is administered by the Faculty Senate Carbon Commitment Committee and the OSU Sustainability Office.
