The goal of the Fall Bike Sale is to offer affordable, ready-to-ride bicycles to students. Transportation Services has teamed up with the ALI Bike Shop, OSU Surplus and OSU Public Safety to refurbish abandoned or dropped-off bikes and put them back into use on campus.
Each year, bikes are left behind on campus, some of them losing their wheels, seats and sparkle. This year, a new campus partnership is collecting and refurbishing bikes, to be sold in the Fall Bike Sale. This special OSU Surplus sale event will happen in a busy, central part of campus, to make it easy for students to attend. Transportation Services will be there with free lights, helmets, and ZAP registrations. Public Safety will be there to register bikes with Project 529 and answer questions about securing bikes. The event will be an opportunity for a large number of students to connect with biking and other Sustainable Transportation resources at OSU, and a great way to welcome new students to campus in the Fall.
Find us at the Beaver Community Fair in the Memorial Union Quad! Event takes place September 30, 2022 from 12pm-4pm. Sign up to receive email updates.
Leaving your bike behind? Students leaving OSU can donate their bikes to help offer affordable, ready-to-ride bicycles to future students!
That’s it! After you drop it off, Public Safety will secure the bike, and Transportation Services and the ALI Bike Shop Mechanics will take it from there. Your bike will either be refurbished for the Fall Bike Sale or go directly into a Surplus public sale. Income from the sale of dropped-off bikes will be used to purchase replacement parts and other costs associated with the bike sale.
Give your bike a leg up on its next adventure, and drop it off with a Public Safety Officer in Cascade Hall.
